Macbeth
This is the Macbeth main index. I hope that you will find something here to help you with your SATs revision or with your GCSE coursework.
In the SAT, the whole of Paper 2 is on Macbeth. Your set scenes are Act 2 scenes 1 & 2, and Act 3 scene 4. You have to answer ONE question out of a choice of two. The questions are often on stagecraft (eg what advice would you give to the actors?) or on character (eg what do the set scenes tell us about the characters of Macbeth and his wife?).
For GCSE, the Shakespeare coursework counts twice. It is worth 4% for English Language and 10% for Literature. Very often it is worth doing an oral instead of the essay; you are allowed to substitute an oral interview with your teacher for a maximum of ONE of the essays.
